Guides to choose garden chairs?

The summer months are a fab time to get outside for some rest and recuperation. Look at the empty space on your terrace or deck, or in your garden or yard, and visualise which garden chairs might look great there.

 Chairs for your table

Do you have enough chairs to seat your guests at your garden table? The general public buy their chairs and table as a set, but additional fold-up chairs can act as convenient spares. If you can’t get an ideal match, select a totally different material to avoid a clash, but measure the dimensions of the seat to ensure it will fit and align with those you already have.

 Sun lounger
A sun lounger is a kind of lounger, sometimes kept on a deck or on the terrace. They can be made from different materials ; some have a fabric seat with a metal frame while others may be completely wooden or plastic.
Loungers which have been designed for outside use have weatherproof cushioning and seats. Choose removable upholstery where possible and, where space allows, a broad seat over a narrow one.

Most sun loungers have a support built into the middle. This makes the seat more stable and will promote larger longevity. Premium models are routinely distinguishable by their superior fabric cushioning.

Traditional sun loungers were made from teak wooden pieces, but lately timber models have been made of cedar or pressure-treated wood, which have to be treated every six to 12 months. Loungers made of plastic are light in weight, straightforward and cartable.

 Deck chairs
Deck chairs occupy a special place in British hearts, generating classical images of summer vacations by the beach.
They are collapsible and easily cartable which makes them excellent for picnics and days out. This feature is also handy when it comes to storing them in the less warm months.

Generally deck chairs are wooden with a canvas seat and, thanks, to a retro renaissance, the designs include the conventional as well as the latest. Bespoke models can also be ordered from specialist online outlets.

 Hammocks
A hammock is a type of chair or bed hung from trees, poles or other upright fixtures. There are two basic types of hammock : those made of rope, and those made from hard-wearing fabric.
Rope hammocks are made of either cotton or synthetic rope. Cotton rope is cooler and softer but the artificial rope hammocks are better at resisting rot and other weather-related damage. From another viewpoint, hammocks made of fabric don’t leave rope indentations on the skin and have a tendency to be more comfortable.
Most hammocks use ’spreader bars’ at the ends so as to hang securely from their support. These wooden bars provide bigger stability.

Hammocks should be hung a good distance from the ground. Once an individual is sitting or lying down in a hammock, it should swing readily.
